Wild & Weedy

Wild & Weedy was my first intuitive abstract series. With a botanical theme, the series was made in an effort to find outside of myself a genuine expression of my personal connection with nature.  Extraordinary moments of connection with the Earth that allow us to set our human singularity aside and feel the steady heartbeat of the world can seem rare.  My Wild & Weedy paintings are about the sensory familiarity of those magical moments. The artist materials that I worked with provided me with further inspiration to explore, create and discover.  My ideas and process painting in this way helped me to define and strengthen my identity as both a conservationist, an artist, and a creature of this Earth.
In my creative practice, I continue to work under the subject of abstract botanicals on a regular basis.  Please visit my Instagram profile to see more current abstract botanicals underway in-studio.

I acknowledge that I live, work and play on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, the Métis Nation (Region 3), and all people who make their homes in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta.
